Everything needed to make incredible matcha at home, with budget-friendly bowls.

We've put together this matcha starter set to take the guess-work out of making incredible matcha at home. Each set comes with your choice of bowl (chawan), as well as a whisk (chasen), whisk stand, bamboo scoop (chashaku), and a 20-gram tin of milled-to-order ceremonial grade matcha.

All of our matcha is milled by us in Minneapolis, using only naturally-farmed Wazuka tencha - grown without pesticides or chemicals of any kind. Local milling allows the complexity of our tea to truly shine, while preserving the highest possible number of antioxidants. It also makes for a much smoother bowl of tea.

Each starter set also comes with a beautiful gift box!

Great starter set

This set comes with essentials to make a cup of delicious matcha. The bowl and the whisk feel with great quality, spoon not so much. My package is a little bit damaged when delivered but everything inside are still intact. The matcha comes with it is smooth. It would be nice to include a matcha making instruction and care instruction. Recommended.

Good Value!

The quality of the materials were excellent! The matcha provided was amazing. I feel like the bowl and spoon will last a long time. I am getting used to the proper technique of using the whisk, but it’s fine so far! One thing that stood out to me was the packing. The box was filled to the brim with packing paper, plastic air bags, and all sorts of stuff to ensure it was safe. Inside the matcha box itself, there was lots of insulation. Simon usually packs the House Blend matcha or the Samidori.
Matcha whisk tips! Pour hot water into your matcha bowl and place the matcha inside. This prevents it from getting too dry and brittle. Also be fast but you want light pressure. To do this, you need to use your wrist mostly.
