About Uji Hikari
Uji Hikari is a famous though relatively uncommon cultivar that is typically seen in high-end blends. It is very distinctive on its own, yet remains very smooth and easy to drink, with heavy Umami in the form of mushroom and briny notes, along with a tropical sort of sweetness in the aftertaste, reminiscent of banana.
Origin
Naka is a sub-region of Wazuka, the main tea town of Uji. This matcha has been farmed by a 5th generation tea farmer. Like all of our partner farmers, she is committed to natural farming without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
Milled-To-Order
As with all of our matcha, our Uji Hikari is milled-to-order by us in Minneapolis. This guarantees the highest percentage of aromatic compounds and antioxidants, as well as a smoother matcha.
